This sophisticated vessel was created using a "plungeware" technique in which the vessel is plunged while still hot into a vat of water, creating a crackled pattern over the surface of the piece.  In this example, the freshly crackled surface is reheated, rolled in various colors of fine powdered glass frit, remolten and smoothed to achieve this remarkable surface pattern that strongly resembles a beautifully colored marble stone.

In this example, the pontil was left in place, and the resulting amphora is displayed on the clear glass stand.  The stand is included and will be shipped with the vessel.  The resulting effect is a wonderful contrast of levity and weight, and of texture and color.

The canary yellow interior pops with vibrance, and a stark black lip wrap tops off the vessel.

This Seattle artist gains a sense of freedom to experiment from the knowledge that any pieces that he chooses not to sign and exhibit will be sold on their own aesthetic and technical merits. Photographs truly do not do these objects justice.  I feel that the high bidders for this round of unsigned art glass will be pleasantly surprised by the complexity, thoughtfulness of design and the level of precision represented in these vessels.
