Cased Mouth Blown Lunar Seattle Art Glass Vase

This piece is blown in stages with multiple overlays.  It features a bright white interior and black, brown and vermillion colored fine frit on the outside of the clear design layer.

Piece measures 7"tall by 9.75" wide.  It weighs 6.3 pounds.

This piece was produced by a professional glass artist living in the Seattle area.   Signed works by this artist are shown in Seattle area galleries and are sold for many hundreds of dollars.  He is very selective in choosing which pieces to sign.  An inconsistency in pattern, a bubble, a form that is not what he sought, imperfect color play, or any small feature of production that belies anything less than the perfection sought, and the piece goes unsigned.

Condition Report for this piece:

This vessel has bubbles and interesting craters on the outside of the bottom of the piece.  I found what appears to be a crack, in the outer layer of the glass, from one of these craters to another. 

I am not sure if this happened during production or after, but most likely during, because I am only the second owner of this piece, and it it unlikely that the artist or myself would have done anything to crack this piece post- production.  See pictures.  It is very pleasing to look at, and the crack I mentioned is only in the outside layer of glass, from one crater to another.  It should be stable because it terminated at either end in a crater.
