Vitrix This piece measures 6" tip to tip. It measures 2.5" wide. It is in perfect condition there are no chips or cracks. Vitrix Hot Glass Studios was founded in 1979 in the Market Street District in historic Corning, NY. Each Vitrix art glass piece is thoroughly inspected before being inscribed with the Vitrix signature and date.
Tom Kelly went to work for
Bob Rockwell in 1982. Mr. Rockwell is the world's foremost collector
of Carder-Steuben glass. (To see Mr. Rockwell's collection, visit the
Rockwell Museum in Corning.)
Tom Kelly later worked with
Thomas S. Buechner III at Vitrix Hot Glass Studio. At Buechner's Vitrix Studio, visiting artists such as Lino Tagliapietra and Fritz Dreisbach imparted their knowledge and influenced his craft. Kelly eventually took over Vitrix around 1995.
